Derrimut Primary school identified students requiring sensory input.
They needed an innovative space that would provide their students with personalised sensory input that will develop self-regulation skills. A place for them to explore & reflect, where their students are able to navigate their emotions and practice self-regulation, preparing them for social & academic settings.
Ability Space installed a large portable sensory room to allow their students to benefit from a calm space away from the classroom.
The team at Ability Space has always been eager to assist and listen to all our requests, making sure to address every need promptly. Not to mention, the response time has been fantastic, which is greatly appreciated.
Comments from our client
The pod is truly a remarkable addition to our space. It offers a diverse range of experiences for our students to engage in as they navigate their emotions and practice self-regulation. From lounging on the hammock to gazing at the starry ceiling, watching fish swim in the LED-lit water tube, or simply enjoying the different textures, each child finds their unique way to interact with the pod.
This innovative space has become an essential tool in supporting our students’ social-emotional development and well-being. It’s fascinating to witness the transformation in our students once they enter the pod – a sense of calmness washes over them, creating a peaceful and safe environment for exploration and reflection.
